It's really dumb to take a "join or die" approach to organizing. So now instead of a disinterested party that wouldnt stand in the way of reform, we have an interested party who associates reform with attacking them personally. But you know what will happen? They will start giving a fuck the other way once they get attacked for being racist and evil and whatever other abuse gets thrown at them. If someone (somehow) just doesnt give a fuck after all this, they arent going to start giving a fuck because we give them an ultimatum. Is it wrong to feel this way? Does being neutral about oppressive injustice make someone side with the oppressor?įorcing people to choose sides backfires on the people forcing the choice 100% of the time. Some people may side with the oppressor, and others may even feel neutral about it because it doesn't have any effect on them and their lives at this moment. The internet uproar and the clear outrage seen by protestors showing their anger towards the injustice committed shows they transparently do not side with the oppressor. With the police officer now being charged with 3rd degree murder, protestors continue to ravage across Minneapolis, Minnesota. The case occurred within the United States, however, this type of event happens internationally.įrom what can be seen in the video captures of the police enforcing their dominion over him, George Floyd was not resisting their authority nor were the police simply detaining and arresting him, but suffocating him. Aside from that particular case, many believe that the cruelty done to George Floyd was due to racial prejudice. This question has derived from the George Floyd incident and an internet uproar about the unjust exploitation that was placed on him. ![]()
